Workshops

Every workshop at Scuola della Luce reflects the photographer who leads it—not only their practice, but, above all, their way of engaging with the world. Each instructor brings their own perspective, questions, and obsessions, placing them alongside those of the participants. What emerges is a genuine exchange, moving in both directions: the photographer shares their work, the participants share theirs, and everyone leaves with something new.

The aim is to experience photography not only as a technical discipline, but as a tool for connection and cross-pollination—one that helps us better understand both the world around us and ourselves.
For Paolo Verzone, light is a language filled with rhetoric and poetry. For Myriam Boulos, photography is a space of intimacy, where the personal becomes political. For Laia Abril, it is an investigation into trauma, weaving together images and documents. For Roger Grasas, it begins with an almost philosophical question: why do we photograph?

Each workshop is shaped by a different photographer, and with them comes a different way of seeing the world. But the people gathered around the table change too, and it is from this encounter that something truly unique emerges. The workshop becomes a space for dialogue, where photography is not the destination, but the starting point for a much broader conversation.
